Christmas Traditions

I just got back from my monthly MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) meeting. We had a speaker talk about getting your home ready for the holidays and Christmas traditions. I'm really excited about our family starting some of our own traditions. I know this year is a little early to start some traditions with Brayden, but it got me to thinking about traditions I would like to start in the future and some that we can start now. A great one to start in a couple of years is the Elf on the Shelf. I know many moms out there have started this one and are loving it. You buy the little elf pictured above, and you register him and give him a name. He is sent by Santa to watch and see if your kids are naughty or nice, and he reports back to Santa. He moves around the house from room to room, so kids must be on their best behavior at all times. Some other traditions that were discussed today were buying the family matching christmas pjs to open on Christmas Eve. This is one that we are going to start this year. It was Jeffrey's idea and so I ordered us some the other day. It must be a popular one, because the pjs I picked out at first were sold out in the adult sizes we needed. I got the last pair of my second pattern choice. I will remember to shop early for those next year. Some families bake a cake on Christmas Eve and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas Day and have cake for breakfast. Others mentioned reading Twas the Night Before Christmas and the story of the birth of Jesus on Christmas Eve. All the talk about Christmas has really got me excited about our first Christmas with Brayden and the trip we are about to take to New York! I'm still trying to think of other fun traditions, so feel free to share any traditions you have.

Someone Loves to Brush his Teeth

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas......

The Christmas tree is not the same this year. We had to put a gate around it, because Brayden just could not wait to start grabbing ornaments. He was sooo mad, when we put the gate up and he could not get to the tree! It just does not create the same atmosphere with the gate :(

Look What I found this Morning.....

Brayden has been gnawing away on his bed! All around the bed I found these marks....

Does Anyone Need Any Frames?

A friend of mine from Dental Hygiene school is selling these CUTE distressed picture frames that are so popular right now. Her husband is making them, and they are selling them at some craft shows. They are trying to raise money to help with the expense of adopting a baby girl, so I thought I would help her spread the word. They are such a sweet couple! I know they will be great parents to her. If you are interested e-mail me sarabiggers@hotmail.com and I will give you her phone number.

Must Be a Guy Thing.....

Brayden loves the remote control. We have three of them and we are constantly searching for them. He is always hiding them from us.

Thanksgiving Party at MMO.....

Brayden enjoyed his Thanksgiving party ant Mother's Morning Out. He got to try some new foods and really enjoyed the fig newtons and cheese popcorn puffs. He cleaned his tray. He will eat anything you put in front of him! You can see him stuffing his face in the pics. I didn't really get a good group pic, like I had hoped. Oh, well... I got a pic of all his buddies that were there. They only had 5 there today out of the seven in his class. (You can click on the collage to make it bigger.)

E-mail Subscription to Blog is Up and Running

You can now subscribe to our blog and get e-mail updates, when I make new posts on the blog. Brayden has a party at MMO today at 12:45, hopefully I will get some good pictures of him with some of the kids in his class. I will try to post them later on today.

What's Wrong With This Picture????

Can you believe Jeffrey is wearing an MSU hat??? It was actually just a joke. He wore it to my parents house to pick up Brayden. He thought my dad would get a kick out of it. Jeffrey is actually a big Ole Miss fan and my dad is the State fan. My dad was speechless, when he saw the hat.

Wedding Weekend in Waco

We spent the weekend in Waco, TX for Jessica's (Jeffrey's cousin) wedding. The weekend flew by! We had a great time! The wedding was beautiful and Jessica looked so pretty! Jeffrey and I enjoyed dancing to the band and having a little weekend getaway. Although, We were sure excited to see Brayden, when we got back. Brayden was not as excited to see us as we thought he would be. I guess he had a good weekend with his Grammy and Pop. I'm sure glad they could keep him for us, because I don't think it would have been a good flight if we had taken him along.

First Taste of Cold Weather

We took Brayden to his cousin Brady's flag football game tonight, and he did not like the cold weather. The wind was blowing, and he buried his face in my jacket and did not move. His eyed were covered by his little hat most of the time. We didn't stay long. We lasted about 20 minutes.

Uh Oh! Mom, You Wanted to Read the Paper?

Here is a pic from last night. If you want to read the paper at our house, you better be fast! (Unless you are good at putting puzzles together) Brayden LOVES to rip up the paper and my magazines and then he tries to eat it. YUM, YUM!

Santa Pics at Animal Crackers........

I just thought I would let you moms with little ones know that Animal Crackers in Trace Station (Ridgeland) has a photographer there today and tommorrow taking Santa pics. The time yesterday was from 12:00-6:00. If you would like to have Santa pics done for Christmas cards give them a call to schedule your appointment. Brayden was scared of Santa. He screamed and cried the whole time. They kept calling him Reagan and thought he was a girl :) I can't wait to get the pics back next Friday. I'm sure they will be good for a laugh. If I use them for Christmas cards, I will have to put some comment like..... We hope YOU have a MERRY Christmas! Oh, and they are $25 for two 5X7.
